Training Times

Junior swimmers are expected to attend their Friday night session on a regular basis.  All other sessions are optional – but the more you swim, the faster you’ll improve. Sessions are structured around the abilities of Friday evening training groups as shown below. If you have questions about the suitability of a particular session, just ask one of our coaches whether it would be right for you.

Summer 2024

Cooper’s sessions are closed.  The final session is Thursday, 18 July and return to normal on Tuesday, 10 September.
Campion’s session continues as normal except that it is closed on Tuesday, 6 August and 27 August.
Harrow Lodge all sessions closed over the Bank Holiday weekend, Friday, 23 August to Monday, 26 August inclusive.

Harrow Lodge Friday nights are compressed into 2 hours from the normal 3 hours starting on Friday, 19 July returning to normal on Friday, 6 September.  All swimmers that normally swim between 7pm and 8pm will continue to do so but with some adjustment to the groups.  Swimmers in the first three lanes of the 8pm session (Alison/Jess/Max) will also swim at 7-8pm.  The remaining 8pm swimmers will continue to start at 8pm but will be joined by all the 9pm swimmers.  Lanes will be adjusted according to swimmers in attendance at each session.  There is no session from 9-10pm

All other sessions operate as normal.

Training Groups:

Group Friday lanes
A Friday 7-7:30pm, 7:30-8pm, edge lanes (1 & 8). Beginner swimmers. Half hour sessions.
B Friday 7-8pm, middle lanes. Improving stroke technique, starting to swim drills.
C Friday 8-9pm, lanes 1-4. Our youngsters and those moving from ‘teaching’ sessions to ‘training’ sessions.
D Friday 8-9pm lanes 5-8. Our younger squad swimmers and anyone who prefers the pace of those lanes.
E Friday 9-10pm. Our older swimmers – the training times are mostly later in the evening now (9-10pm).
M Masters swimmers.
